Hello Mr. Captain,
I want to thank you for serving the Indian Cricket team and
making whole country feel proud and honor from time to time, Because as they
say Cricket is not just a sports for Indians it’s a religion and War at same
time.
There are some fish that cannot be caught; it’s not that
they are faster or stronger than the other fishes in the ocean, they are just
touched by something extra which is not visible from outside but that magic
exists somewhere deep within their soul, You Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was that
kind of fish in the ocean of cricket.
I always loved listening stories from my mother and father
about their childhood and youth like how they used to go to school by swimming
and walking 10 miles, how my dad won the presidential elections of most
prestigious college of country and how they used to follow cricket just through
radio and still were a huge fan of it. I never had any such stories with me
which I could tell my coming generations not before that night, this all changed
when India lifted the Cricket World Cup - 2011 and the man who came as a knight
in Shining armour that day was none other you . I was also among those million
of cricket fans who were boozing and dancing that night on our capital roads
with happiness beaming out of our throats with full throttle. That night dint
felt like a just New Year eve it was as if we were doing a new millennium celebration.
You are definitely the writer of the most amazing story of my life.
My family was a big cricket fan from always, me and my
sister used to sit at one places for hours believing that India will lose if we
change the position, and several other such gestures. But as we grown up the
interest shifted to few other things and cricket took a second seat it was
limited only to knowing the winning and losing teams and the records which Sachin
were creating. This all again changed when you took charge of Indian Cricket
team and started winning trophies for us with not just your shots but also with
Mind.
Have you ever read something about iceberg ? The part we see
of Ice above the water is nothing compared to what lies below the water. You
appear something like a iceberg on the cricket ground, serene, simple and
silent from outside but a bigger picture is already created in your mind which
is visible in your actions and later in outcome of the matches. Those were favorite
moments when you run on the ground with stumps in your hand after winning the
match.
It’s always a treat to watch you playing. I am not a big fan
of anybody not even yours but I will always be thankful to you for giving me the
memories and stories which no other personality has given in my lifetime till
date and also for keeping the spirit of sports and cricket alive in the people
of our country.
You will surely be missed as our Captain Mr, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Kudos to our captain
